When old fuel is run, gummy substances can form in the fuel lines, preventing fuel from reaching the mower. The fuel shut-off valve or hose pinch pliers can be used to crimp the line to find a blockage in the fuel line. Fuel flow should be stopped and restarted while checking each section.

The fuel line can be checked by stopping fuel flow and removing the end furthest from the fuel tank and placing it in a container. Watch the fuel flow when you turn on your fuel supply.

It is important to place the container below the fuel tank. A fuel pump is necessary to run fuel uphill.

You may need to remove the section of the fuel line to loosen the clog if you find a fuel restriction. Use carburetor cleaner to get the clog loose.

To remove the blockage, blow compressed air into the line. Repetition is necessary. In the event of a clog or a crack in the fuel line, you should replace the line.

Your Bad Boy lawn mower is running on old gas

Using gasoline immediately after purchase is crucial, as gasoline can break down and lose effectiveness as early as 30 days following purchase. The majority of gasoline available today contains ethanol.

Gasoline is made more environmentally friendly by adding ethanol, a corn-based fuel. Small engines do not perform well with ethanol, even though ethanol is fine for most vehicles today.

Moisture in the air is attracted to ethanol. If the solution separates and runs hot, it can build up and cause corrosion in the fuel system, as well as cause engine damage.

Once you have confirmed you have fuel to the pump, disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor and shut off your fuel supply. This line is placed in a container, fuel flow is started, the mower is started, and fuel flow is monitored.

Your fuel pump is working properly if the fuel flow into the container is steady or pulsed. Pump replacement may be necessary if this is the case.

There is a plug in the Bad Boy fuel filter
